the Spirit and Sent to Serve Others"

We Believe

Our faith tradition is based on a life-transforming story. It's a story both ancient and timely. It’s a story of a powerful and patient God who has boundless love for all people of the world, who brings justice for the oppressed. It’s a story of Jesus Christ, changing lives. It’s a story that brings comfort and strength to people who today live in modern, often unsettling times. Learn more about our beliefs—and become a part of our story.

History of Peace Lutheran Church

Peace Lutheran began as a merger of two Pasadena Lutheran Churches, First Evangelical Lutheran and Sharon Lutheran. In 1993, the churches came together to expand their ministry and mission to new areas of Pasadena. Our present sanctuary was constructed in 1995; a new education building was added in 2001. Our members come from all walks of life and backgrounds.

Ministries of Peace Lutheran Church

You may find out more and participate in online collaboration of our ministries by going to Peace Groups.

Adult Learning: We offer opportunities on Sunday mornings, evenings and Wednesday mornings (at 10:00 am). These studies range from Bible lessons to topical studies. The Wednesday morning study looks deeper into the worship texts for the upcoming Sunday. All are welcome. We offer Wednesday Evening Studies periodically

Sunday School kids in a groupSunday School: We offer classes for all ages. The purpose of our Sunday School is to develop a desire for life long faith formation in each child. The classes are small and teachers are volunteers who have been trained and their backgrounds checked.

We use the Witness curriculum from Augsburg-Fortress. We abide by a covenant that values each person as a child of God and respects and appreciates each one's gifts and growth. We love children and see them not as the future church, but as active members and contributors to the church of today.

Confirmation Peace's program begins in August and concludes in May. Instruction is offered for all 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Contact the church office for information: 281-487-1635.

Family Life: We practice milestone ministries as a way helping families move through the cycle of life.

First Communion We invite children to Lord's table when parents feel they are ready. We offer age appropriate instruction to help Baptism imagechildren understand the meaning of communion. We offer special classes for third graders to help them discover the joy, grace and hope of this "means of Grace."

Funerals and Grief: We offer support and guidance to all who experience the loss of a loved one. For members we offer a special light meal after the funeral for comfort and fellowship.

Men of Peace: This group meets on the first Saturday of the month for breakfast fellowship. Check our online calendar for the latest time and place.

Parish Life: This group ministers to the community life of Peace. Check our calendar for the latest activities. They meet monthly for planning.

Prayer: Our prayer ministry meets on Tuesdays. If you have prayer request, email it to Judy Griffin

Service to Others: We have ongoing service to others in a variety of activities. The first Sunday of the month is food collection Sunday and we ask members to bring non-perishable food to our pantry to share with Pasadena Community Assistance Ministries.

Stephen's Ministry: We offer spiritual and emotional support to those in need through this caring program.

Weddings Pre-marital classes are by appointment with the Pastor. More information about wedding guidelines may be found in Peace's Wedding Policy Handbook. Call the church office to schedule a wedding date. Two to three pre-marital appointments with the pastor are required.
